World Club 7s Champions Name Team for Central Coast Sevens

World Club 7s Champions Fijian Powerhouse Daveta will be conducting its annual Spring 7s tour competing for the very first time at the Fitness First Central Coast Sevens in Australia over the weekend of 25th & 26th October before heading to the Singapore Cricket Club 7s and, pending qualification, the Coral Coast 7s in Fiji. Team selection has been completed and includes five players from the current Fiji 7s 24 man squad, three of whom will be playing at this weekend’s IRB 7s opener on the Gold Coast.

The team contains Fiji 7s Captain Emosi Vucago who has returned to Fiji after a stint in the US with Waisale Serevi. He will be supported in the halves by young Jerry Tuwai who earned a call up to Ben Ryan’s squad after a ‘coming of age’ performance for Daveta at the World Club 7s in Limerick which he followed up in Fiji’s win at the Oceania 7s last weekend.

The forwards combination of Apisai Domalailai, Viliame Mata, Eremasi Radrodro and Levani Kurimudu will be looking to provide the strength up front set the platform for speedsters such as Leveni Kurimalawai to benefit out wide.

We have focussed on selecting a team that contains a mix of experience and youth ensuring that we meet the balance of performance and development that we try so hard to achieve.  New players such as Semi Kunatani, Tuiba Batiratu, Akei Nainoca and Apisai Moimoi, who is the younger brother of Flying Fijian and Montpellier player Akapusi Qera, will all be looking to showcase their talents on the tour whilst the more experienced guys like Vucago and Domalailai share their knowledge on and off the field.

The coaching and management team of Jone Lotu and Paula Biu will be back together supported by Nadroga U20s Assistant Trainer Akei Nainoca as trainer.
