A team of five, comprising two officials and three athletes, has departed Fiji for the World Junior and Cadet Karate Championship.
The officials, Sensei Tony Hails and Pita Lenoa, and the three athletes, namely Sandip Pala, Tevita Tamanigaunatawamudu and Chesley Yee, will be participating in Guadalajara, Spain from 7-10 November, 2013.
Sandip has participated previously for Fiji at a World Championship, whilst this will be a debut event for both Tevita and Chesley.
All athletes recently competed at the Karate Fiji International in late September 2013, where Sensei Tony had the opportunity to observe all of them on the competition mats; feedback was provided to the athletes by Sensei Tony and the Chief Referee of the event, Sensei Alison Peachey, to assist them with their preparation for this World event.
