The Yamacia Rugby 7s team departs the country today for Australia as they prepare to battle out in two tournaments.

Sigatoka based champion club will participate in the Crescent Head 7s tournament in New South Wales on February 8 and then the Kiama 7s in South Sydney on February 22.

Speaking to The Fiji Times, Club president David Dakuitoga was excited for the tour and considered February as a month of enthusiasm.

“Im very happy that our visa for Australia has been approved,” he said.

The exotic players who are yet to play on overseas soil would  be given the game time as Yamacia’s two key players, Donasio Ratubuli and Semi Kunatani, are engaged with Fiji 7s team in Wellington.

“It would be a major developing factor for Yamacia as they will have a taste of International Rugby standard,” he added.

Dakuitoga commended Sigatoka River Safari for being their major sponsor and Tale Investment as their co-sponsor.

Australian tour sponsors are Laxco Printery, Serevi and Ocean Groove — an Australian company.
