YOUTH GLOBAL INSPIRATIONAL VOICES 2014 CONTEST LAUNCHED

TAMPERE, 27nd April 2014 – By second consecutive year, the World Network of Young Leaders and Entrepreneurs (WNYLE), an international think-tank based in Finland, launches the ‘Global Inspirational Voices’ contest.

The initiative is meant to positively touch One Billion Youth by 2020. The approach is easy, youth from any nationality make a short video on any topic of current local or global concern preferably in line with the achievement of the UN’s millennium development goals, upload it on YouTube and disseminate it among their friends.

Deadline for the submission of videos is 30 May 2014.

This year the three winners of the contest under the categories of the most creative, most inspirational and most visited video, will be granted a scholarship to attend the International Workshop of International Youth Leadership and Entrepreneurship to take place in Kiljava, Finland from 12-15 September 2014.

“We believe in the energy, passion and inspirational drive of worldwide youth” Underlines Víctor Pérez (Leader of WNYLE), who also added that “I am absolutely convinced that together we will achieve this noble goal”.

On the 2013 edition of the GIV contest, 45 video contributions were submitted from youth from thirty-one nationalities reaching more than 30,000 visits altogether. The award of the most visited video was granted to Maysara Al arabeed from Palestine; Madalina Buzdugan got the award for the most creative video and the most inspirational video was made by Saunak Bhatta from Nepal.

WNYLE is a non for profit organization based in Tampere whose mandate is the international promotion of youth leadership and innovative entrepreneurship. It is made up of an Executive Committee, a team of WNYLE National Representatives in 100 countries and a Council of Prominent Leaders led by Michael Spence, Nobel Laureate in Economics.
