The Attorney-General and Minister for Finance Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum met with the Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, Mr Mubarak Rashed Al Mansoori who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the Emirates Investment Authority on 26 April 2015. Accompanying the Attorney-General were the Fijian Ambassador to the UAE, Robin Nair, Permanent Secretary for Finance, Filimone Waqabaca and Fijian government officials from the Fijian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the capital.
The Attorney-General informed the Governor of Fiji’s economic progress and reforms. The Governor recognised Fiji’s economic advancement and reforms in recent times. The Attorney-General discussed opportunities for UAE investors and commercial enterprises in banking, tourism, financial markets, public private partnerships and using Fiji as a hub to venture into the other Pacific Island Countries.
