Adrian Smith helped the Fiji men’s hockey team scored their first goal in the World Hockey League Round 2 against China last night but it was not enough as they lost, 4-1.
Smith was also named Player of the Match.
Fiji is ranked 70th, but showed a better performance than in the last two matches and fought well against 18th ranked China, who is ranked 18th.
The women’s team was thumped by India last night, 10-0.
Meanwhile the men’s side will take on Bangladesh tomorrow night while the women’s will play against Malaysia tonight.
