FIJIAN PRIME MINISTER RECEIVES DELEGATION FROM THE WORLD BANK

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama today received a senior delegation from the World Bank led by the Vice President for the East Asia and Pacific Region, Axel Van Trotsenburg.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the head of government and the senior officials to discuss strengthening their partnership and discussed the Fijian government’s major development objectives.

Mr Trotsenburg also congratulated the Prime Minister and the Fijian government on the successful outcome of the 2014 general elections.

The World Bank has previously acknowledged its plans to support the Fijian government’s development priorities, including transport infrastructure repairs, fostering private business growth and investment, improving livelihoods in rural areas and assisting Fiji become more resilient to natural disaster.
