A 16 year old student is in police custody for the alleged rape of a 7 year old student yesterday afternoon.
The incident is alleged to have occurred just meters from the victim’s home sometime between 1600-1800hrs in Nadi.
The victim was playing outside her house when the suspect led her to nearby bushes where the alleged incident occurred. The suspect fled the scene when the victim’s grandfather went looking for her and found her.
The suspect is currently in police custody after his parents brought him to the station around midnight last night.
Investigations continue.
