NAUPOTO OPENS NASINU SCHOOLS NETBALL

CAPTION: Minister Viliame Naupoto escorted by the President Nasinu Primary Schools Netball Association Mrs Timaina Nailolo.

Teams from 16 primary schools took part in the opening of the Nasinu Primary Schools Netball Association competition at the National Netball Centre in Laucala today.

Addressing young netters during the opening, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Commander Viliame Naupoto told them not to think too much about beating other teams but to always give their best.

“Today, we will witness how well you have prepared yourself but please give it your best so whether you win or lose you are satisfied with your performance,” the minister advised.

The minister told the young netballers they should also count themselves lucky for accessing good netball facilities.

Association president, Timaima Nailolo said they were fortunate to have the minister as chief guest because this gave their start a spirit of enthusiasm.

“Netball for Nasinu primary schools has existed for more than a decade and was formed to encourage participation at grassroot level,” Mrs Nailolo said.

She said the association was able to survive all these years despite having no major sponsor.
