The Ministry’s Northern Health Office organised the campaign in Labasa and focused its efforts towards destroying mosquito-breeding places. Areas such as Namara settlement outside Labasa town were identified as ‘hotspots’ for mosquito-breeding areas.

As part of the campaign, health authorities called on Fijians in the north to clean their homes and the surrounding areas. The Ministry stressed that the public needs to take precautionary measures to avoid contracting dengue fever or typhoid.
