Nadi, Fiji: Tuesday 3 February, 2015 –Tour Managers welcomed Fiji’s first Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) group for 2015 from various regions across India as part of the “Brakes India Annual Distributor’s Conference,” with a majority of the delegates visiting Fiji for the first time.

The conference group was secured through Pegasus Travels, Chennai India with the assistance of Fiji’s Tour Managers Sales Office in Mumbai. Fiji was selected as the destination after the agent visited the country and inspected various resorts and excursions, which he found was ideal for meeting the requirements of the conference. The annual conference is unique in that it will also double as an incentive reward to distributors of Brakes India Ltd for achieving targets set in 2014.

Tour Managers Fiji Ltd has been a constant presence in the Indian market and continues to work extensively with industry partners to grow the outbound market from India. The company is the leading inbound agent from this market and has significant bookings from India for the first quarter of 2015, which is the peak travel season for Indian tourists.

Managing Director of Tour Managers, Mr. Damend Gounder revealed that “Tour Managers Fiji is highly engaged with the Indian market and has developed it around high quality accommodation, close relationships with the tourism industry in Fiji and its partners in India. The revenue generated from India visitors rates as one of the highest on a person spend which is great for maximised return on market spend”.

Brakes India Limited is the leading manufacturer of Automotive and Non-Automotive Braking Systems and Ferrous Castings in India, whose custom packaged 4-night itinerary will consist of visits to significant cultural sites around the western parts of Fiji, carefully planned themed dinners and exotic island getaways.

Earlier this year, Tourism Fiji launched a Convention Bureau, which specialises in meeting the demands of the MICE segment within the tourism industry, an example of which is to facilitate groups such as the Brakes India conference group.

Speaking from India where she is currently attending the Tourism Fiji India Road Show 2015, Sally Cooper, Director Convention Bureau and Events, said “Hosting the Brakes India Annual Distributor’s Conference is a great start for 2015 as it aligns well with our market plans for boosting visitor arrivals during Fiji’s off-peak season – when it is a challenge to entice visitors from our traditional markets,”

“We have been working closely with partners like Tour Managers in India for the last three years and it is great to welcome the first incentive from this very discerning market.”
