By SALOTE QALUBAU

His Excellency the President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and Earth Hour Ambassador for Fiji will be hosting a candle lit dinner at Novotel, Lami on Saturday, March 29 from 8.30 till 9.30pm to mark an occasion aimed at assisting disadvantaged communities on Mali Island and Vanua Levu

Funds raised at the event will help with the building of community halls, solar panels and water tanks. The project complements the aim of islanders to protect the Great Sea Reef through the institution of marine protected areas.

“The island is known to often face water problems because of dwindling vegetation affecting water sources, “said World Wide Fund Communications Officer Theresa Fox.

All are welcome to be part of the celebration to support the worthy cause for humanity for the natural environment.

Tickets can be purchased at purchase $25 each or $250 for a table of ten.
