FIJI Water donated over 60,000 bottles of water to the Water Authority of Fiji today.

This follows the Authority’s major water disruptions currently experienced in Lautoka.

FIJI Water Chief Executive Officer, Rokoseru Nabalarua said it was a privilege for FIJI Water to be able to assist WAF.

“We know that the people of Lautoka need water for drinking,” he said.

WAF Chief Executive Officer Opetaia Ravai, in extending his deepest appreciation to FIJI Water said the donation would assist WAF in the provision of water supply to the people of Lautoka.

“These bottles of water will be distributed to the families in Lautoka especially in areas where the water carting trucks cannot reach,” he said.

Mr Ravai said the WAF Team led by the Chief Operating Officer, General Manager Production and Regional Manager West had been working diligently in trying to restore water.

He said the repairs works were almost complete.

“If everything goes well, then the people of Lautoka should start receiving water by early tomorrow morning,” said Mr Ravai.

Mr Ravai also extended his appreciation to the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces, National Fire Authority, Fiji Electricity Authority, media and the contractors who are working with WAF in trying to normalize supply in Lautoka.
