Fijian proud to win Regional Pro Fishing Tour & bags $10,000 cash

Tuesday 11 February 2014 – A tailor of Suva, Mohani Lata Raj was over the moon after scooping the top prize of $10,000.00 cash in Digicel’s Regional Pro Fishing Tour texting game.  She also boasts the bragging rights as the best pro fisher in the Pacific in texting game.

Raj received her prize from Digicel Fiji commercial director, Andrew Skelton in Suva this morning.

“I’m proud to announce that Ms. Raj is the winner of the Regional Pro Fishing Tour and I’m delighted that a Fijian has won this event,” said Mr. Skelton.

“This was a unique texting game promotion which Digicel organized in partnership with MobiMedia as this was the first regional game, showcasing the reach of our network in the Pacific.”

A long time Digicel customer, Ms. Raj was happy to land the winning prize in the fishing competition which also included players from Vanuatu, Tonga and Nauru.

“I spent close to $2,000.00 for top up while playing this game and I’m so happy to have won the first prize,” commented Ms. Raj.

“I’ll use the money to pay for my daughter’s university education and also invest some of it back in my tailoring business.”

Digicel customers in Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga and Nauru took part in the first ever  regional texting competition and had to text FISH to 204 to catch the most fish at the highest point values through successive weeks of fishing in the waters around each of the four nations. A total of $24,000.00 cash was offered in prizes, which included each country’s champion fisher along with instant cash prizes as incentives over the five weeks of competition last month.

The second regional texting game competition will run next month.
