The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) is reiterating the advice to the general public to take heed of the heavy rain warning that has been issued for most parts of the country.
The Navaga Crossing on Koro Circular Road in the Eastern Division is closed to all traffic and the public is advised to use the alternative route via Navaga village.
Due to sustained rainfall there will be high soil saturation, surface run offs and the possibility of landslides.
In case of landslides, the public is advised to first contact the Mineral Resources Department on 338 1611 or the NDMO on 3319 250 before any steps are taken to clear the slip.
The Public is also advised to continue monitoring the weather bulletins and forecasts on the radio or on the Fiji Meteorological Services Website at www.met.gov.fj and to listen to the radio for further updates.
