Minister for Youth and Sports Hon. Parveen Kumar Bala’s message to the Fiji team

On behalf of the Fijian government and all Fijians I am pleased to forward this message of encouragement, support and unity as the flying Fijians prepare to take on Wales in their final Rugby World Cup match. Fijians over the past fortnight have come together in their support for the Flying Fijians. This support is one of a united and strong Fiji that is being showcased by our boys and their technical staff at the 2019 RWC in Japan. We have seen what the Flying Fijians are capable of in their last pool match and for much of the match against Australia.

It is time for the fighting Flying Fijians spirit to rise and be counted!

The Fijians flair and heart counts for much and we look forward to this to come to fore, come match day. It is this ‘sega na leqa’ or ‘never say die’ spirit that we know in the past that has taken Fiji rugby to great heights! And there is no better time than now, to have inspiration from RWC 2007 and our magnificent 38-34
victory over Wales that took us to the quarter finals.

Let lightning strike twice!
Looking ahead, the Fijian rugby brand showcased at the RWC 2019 augurs well as more and more of our youths aspire towards professional playing careers.
I extend my best wishes to the flying Fijians ahead of this final pool match and know the boys will do Fiji and all Fijians proud…..Toso Viti!!
