Man arrested for receiving stolen property

Police are warning members of the community, particularly businessmen not to buy stolen items.

A 40-year-old businessman was arrested from Nausori for buying gold jeweleries amounting to $52,900.00 from a 17-year-old unemployed youth of Nausori.

The businessman has been charged for receiving stolen property.

Police are again appealing to members of the public to be careful of illegal activities and not be involved in buying of stolen items.

Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the public should report any related matter about the stolen items to the nearest Police station.
