After five years at the heart of the Fiji Football Association media team, Head of Media and Television Moiz Munif is moving on.

“I’ve loved every minute of working at Fiji FA and leaving was a tough decision to make,” Munif states.

“It has been a great environment in which I’ve grown both on a personal and professional level. I’ve met life-long friends and learned so much in this role and I’m sad to be leaving it behind.”

Munif has overseen numerous developments during his time in the role, which has seen the department grown from a one-man band to two full-time staff members.

“Originally it was just me running the website, writing press releases, liaising with media, covering matches and Fiji FA activities.

“More recently I was charged with overseeing the weekly football spread in the Fiji Sun, as well as the launch of Fiji Foot.”

With so much to manage the arrival of Avikash Chand helped lift some of the pressure and the small team soon got into a good rhythm.

Some of Munif’s best memories in the role include being called on to work on various OFC tournaments staged in Fiji, with the recent OFC U-20 Championship and Fiji’s first qualification to a FIFA tournament a highlight.

Fiji FA CEO Bob Kumar says after seeing the passion and the hours Munif has put in over his five years with the association, it’s sad to see him part.

“Obviously we’re disappointed he’s moving on but at the same time we know there will be plenty of exciting opportunities out there.

“Moiz has been important in raising the profile of football in Fiji and we appreciate all of the work he has done for us over the past five years and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
