New staff at the Land Transport Authority were yesterday urged to familiarise themselves well with their new roles to enhance services in the organisation.

The induction program that was held at LTA headquarters in Valelevu gave inductees the opportunity to equip themselves with a sound knowledge of the Authority’s vision, mission, values policies, structures, systems, processes, support services and resources.

LTA Chief Executive Officer, Mr Naisa Tuinaceva told the staff members that they can only be successful in their roles if they have the passion for the job, living the values of the Authority and serving the people of Fiji.

“Our job is 24/7 as we are responsible for the safety of all Fijians on our roads and you can only be part of this team if that passion is in you,” he remarked.

Mr Tuinaceva also urged the inductees to prioritise their service to customers and to ensure service is provided within the legal systems and processes of the Authority.

“LTA is corruption-free, and I want to remind all LTA staff to have a right motive and a clear conscience when dealing with customers,” he said.

“Deal with the issue within the legal systems and process of the authority and every dealing must be transparent and within the confines of LTA law and code of practice. “But if you cannot abide by the law, then this is not the right place for your employment.”

Thirty seven new staff who took up positions in various departments participated in the first quarterly induction program.
