The Attorney-General Hon. Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum today received the new non-resident High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Fiji, Her Excellency Naela Chohan.

The courtesy meeting looked at ways in which Fiji could further strengthen bilateral relations and extend cooperation in particular through trade and commerce with Pakistan. They also discussed areas of technical assistance and co-operation .

At the meeting, Her Excellency congratulated the Fijian Government on the world acclaimed constitution and  for the successful elections held under it last September. She also commended the work of the Government for the investment in infrastructure, improving the lives of ordinary Fijians and creating sustained livelihoods.

At Government House this week, High Commissioner Chohan presented her credentials to the President, His Excellency Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
