Police News Updates 14.02.13 11am

Police can only fight crime effectively with assistance of the community. This was evident in Kadavu when a member of the community made a citizen arrest on a man suspected of cultivating marijuana.

The man was returning from his farm when he met the suspect.

The suspect was arrested and drugs were found on him. The plastic of dried leaves were found hidden inside his trousers.

The man is in police custody whilst leaves are being sent to Koronivia for analysis.

As investigations continue into the matter the incident has once again sparked a warning that these crimes will not be condoned and those who continue to prey on our children will be brought to justice.

A more concerted approach is needed to weed out this social ill as stated by the Commissioner of Police this is an issue of morality which the Police are ill-equipped to handle on their own.
