Road Accidents Worry Police

Over a period of 24 hours two eight-year-olds and a six-year-old have become victims of a road accident which is becoming a real concern.

The first incident is said to have happened along Rewa Street in Suva at  around 2.30pm whereby an eight-year-old student was hit by a vehicle as the driver of the vehicle failed to stop.

The second incident is said to have happened in the Northern Division where by an eight-year-old student was hit by a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old along the Waiqele Road as the student allegedly ran across the road after getting off a bus.

While the third incident is said to have happened at around 8am this morning, a 6 year old student was allegedly hit by a vehicle along the Nukubalavu road in Savusavu.

The two eight year olds are now admitted in hospital after two separate road accidents yesterday
the victim sustained injuries and are admitted in Hospital for observation.

Meanwhile, investigations continue as the driver is currently in police custody.
