SCHOOL IN NADROGA SUFFERS FIRE

Nine of the class rooms at Sigatoka Methodist Primary School has been damaged during an early morning fire. It is believed that about nine classrooms have been badly damaged due to the fire.

National Fire Authority CEO, John O’Connor confirmed that at about 1am, a block consisting of class rooms and teachers quarters was damaged.

“Fire fighters have managed to control the fire from spreading to another block,” Mr O’Connor said.

Meanwhile, the cause of fire is unknown as police investigations continue, while Assistant Principal of Sigatoka Methodist High School, Surya Mohini Prakash said the Primary and Secondary school is in the same compound however the fire did not affect the secondary school block.
