Lautoka city, the city of sugar. Alas, if I would said that 10 or 15 years ago it would have made sense. Now Lautoka just remains Lautoka. It’s just sad, that many a farmers and sugercane planters have migrated from that source of income to urban centres in hope for better jobs and education for their family, and why not? Authorities aren’t doing anything in order to promote the importance of sugarcane for Fiji’s economy, are they?
