Venezuela’s non-resident Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Nelson Davila Lameda congratulated Fiji for a successful election when paying a courtesy call visit to the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola in Suva today.

During their meeting, Minister Kubuabola and Ambassador Lameda discussed various ways in which the two countries could work towards enhancing their bilateral relations.

Minister Kubuabola has assured Ambassador Lameda that Fiji would work closely with his country in realizing how they could benefit from one another.

Ambassador Lameda also extended support of his Government to Fiji on its sovereignty, parliamentary democracy, as well as issues of climate change.

Fiji and Venezuela established formal diplomatic relations in 1983.
