27th July 2015. WAF officials on the Garden Island of Fiji today have met with the Tui Vuna (chief of Vuna)
Ratu Aporosa Ragici, the village headman of Navakawau Semi Lalama, Acting village
headman of Vuna Iosefo Matailima and Vuna district Rep Mr Tuimauta, among other
relevant authorities to discuss the issue of water problem in the area as headlined in
the Fiji Times.

At the meeting, all the gentlemen told Taveuni WAF supervisor Pili Ieli that claims raised
by The Fiji Times are untrue as WAF has been intensifying its water carting services
to them. They all said that WAF has been very helpful to them in terms of consistently
delivering safe drinking water to them.

They are unaware of the petition, adding all -water-related concerns from members
of the community must be brought to the attention of the village headmen as they are the
rightful custodians of village settings. The headmen, they said will be responsible for raising
their concerns with relevant authorities.

WAF Regional Manager Northern Romuluse Mataitoga said they have continued to make
nine trips in a day from Monday to Sunday to service the affected areas in Southern
Taveuni through water carting.
