Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation and Western Charity Alliance helped farmers in western division once again by assisting them with vegetable seeds to improve their farming strategies.
Vodafone Project Officer Jitendra Naidu said that more engagement from other CSO’s and government sector is needed to boost agriculture in our nation at the same time to improve the livelihoods of our low income earned farmers.
This week we have been working with Farmers in Rakiraki, Tavua and Ba area to improve farming and to benefit their community.
Farmers and general public also can receive free farming tips via their mobile through mfarmacy program which is absolutely free.  The message will be broadcasted on daily basis and farmers and other individuals with interest in farming can take full advantage of it.
Currently we are working with Ministry of Youth & Sports to engage more youth into farming under Youths Feed The Nation Project.
We are very thankful to Mr Valami Divisional Youth Officer West and his team for his contribution and support.
We are also looking very closely on income generating projects for our unemployed Youths and women in local communities to sustain their livelihood.
