INAUGURAL SOUTH PACIFIC TOURISM EXCHANGE 2014 RECEIVES MAJOR AIRLINE BOOST

With preparations for the Inaugural South Pacific Tourism Exchange (SPTE) 2014 well underway for 22 and 23 May, 2014, South Pacific Tourism Organisation (SPTO) CEO, Ilisoni Vuidreketi has announced that the event has received a major boost with the confirmation of support from two of the South Pacific’s major airlines, Air New Zealand and Fiji Airways.

In acknowledging both airlines’ support, Mr Vuidreketi said, “Both airlines are an integral part of tourism in the region and their generous support towards the SPTE 2014 reflects their commitment to growth prospects of this vital industry”.

He added that that through this highly valued airline support, the SPTO has been able to facilitate and support the participation of key international buyers and media partners at this inaugural event.

SPTE 2014 will take place at the Pullman Hotel in Auckland, New Zealand on the 22 & 23 May 2014 and is attracting the participation of international wholesalers from around the world including North America, China, North America, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand and sellers from throughout the Pacific, with 16 Pacific Island countries represented at the event through their National Tourism Offices, airlines and private sectors operators.
